Intro to Woodturning Pt 1
January 21, 2020 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
NOTE: This is a two-part class. Meets Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 21 and 23.
Learn the lathe! In this comprehensive 2-part class, master woodturner Don Roden will show you the parts of the lathe, basic operation, basics of turning spindles and bowls, and all about the gouges and other tools used. We’ll also explore the many types of projects you can turn. Turning is one of the most artistic skills in woodworking, and possibly the most addictive!
- We recommend you wear a high-necked shirt, smock or jacket to keep out wood shavings. Choose fabric that will release shavings and dust easily, such as denim or broadcloth. Avoid sweaters and fleece.
- Be sure your footwear is comfortable enough for several hours of standing. Closed-toe, slip resistant shoes or boots required.
