Make a Cutting Board – July

Note: This is a two-part class.
Make a classic cutting board using contrasting hardwoods. You get to choose your woods from a variety pre-cut pieces and design your board as you like. Choose the two-person ticket to make one project together with a friend! All materials provided.
Session 1: Friday, July 12
Learn how to design your board for visual appeal and strength, and glue up the pieces. Note: average board size is 1 to 1.5 inches thick and approximately 10 inches wide by 14 inches long.
Saturday or Sunday, July 13-14
(2-hour time slots available between 11 am and 5 pm — participants will schedule a time during session 1.)
Trim and sand the board, add a groove if desired, then finish with food-safe oil.
Tools used: Table saw with crosscut sled, thickness planer, random orbital sander, router table. Optional: band saw, drill press.
