Class details
Learn to use chisels, draw knives and scorps in this single session of our Hand Tool Academy series. You'll learn about the many varieties of these tools and their uses; using your chisel for making precise, tight joints; shaping and removing material quickly with a scorp/draw shave; and tuning up your tools. If you have your own chisels, draw knives or scorps, please bring them.
About the series
Our complete Hand Tool Academy series teaches fundamental techniques for traditional woodworking with hand saws, planes, chisels, scrapers, spokeshaves and more. These classes serve as the prerequisite for our Hand Tool Joinery classes.
