Intro to Bowl Turning

PREREQUISITE: Intro to Woodturning class or some basic experience with the lathe. This is not a class for those with NO experience.

Learn the fundamental techniques to turn a bowl on the lathe. We'll cover tools and accessories used in bowl turning such as chucks, faceplates, and bowl gouges, along with the process of rounding a rough blank into shape inside and out.

DRESS CODE

• Wear a closed-collar or high-necked shirt or jacket to keep shavings out
• Closed-toe, slip resistant shoes or boots required; prepare to stand for about 3 hours.
• Tie back long hair/beards. No drawstrings, scarves, or other dangling items. NO jewelry on hands.
