Class details

Get a complete introduction to the lathe and woodturning! You'll learn how the lathe works, correct stance and tool use, and fundamental techniques. As you develop more turning skills, you can go on to make projects such as pens, utensil and tool handles, furniture legs, lidded round boxes, bowls, platters, vases, and more.

This class is a prerequisite before advancing to other turning classes. 

Face shields are provided. Dust masks are recommended (N95 or better).

DRESS CODE

- Wear a closed-collar or high-necked shirt or jacket to keep shavings out

- Closed-toe, slip-resistant shoes or boots required; prepare to stand for about 3 hours.

- Tie back long hair/beards. No drawstrings, scarves, or other dangling items. NO jewelry on the hands.
