Great news! We have expanded this class to offer a more in-depth exploration of the options for creating a beautiful custom frame. We will begin with the basics of constructing a frame with mitered corners, which are joined at a 45-degree angle. Then, we will demonstrate a few techniques to enhance both the aesthetics and strength of your frame using router profiles, miter keys, and more. You will also learn how to accurately measure your frame to fit your artwork. Finally, we will cover how to add a mat and glass to complete your piece.
All participants will make a frame to fit an 8x10 image. Sorry, no custom dimensions.
Tools used include the table saw, miter saw, bandsaw, drum sander, jointer, thickness planer, and hand plane.
