NOTE: This is a two-part class, meeting Thursday and Saturday.
Pyrography has been used for centuries to decorate wood, leather, and many other materials. The word means "writing with fire", from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing).
In this class, you will learn the fundamental techniques for creating designs on wood through burning. We will demonstrate how to adjust the temperature and explain the methods for working with different types of wood. You'll also learn the basic controls and features of various woodburning irons. In the second part of the class, you will have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned by creating a simple picture or design.
