Shop Orientation

Shop Orientation is required for membership or hourly rate use of the shop at Dovetail Community Workshop. Orientation is not required to take other classes.

This is not an introductory woodworking class. Please see our listing of Basics courses to start building your skills.

Shop Orientation will cover:

• Shop Policies and Procedures

• Working in a Community Environment

• Basic Safety

• Hands-On Practice with the miter saw and table saw

Safety glasses and hearing protection required. Glasses can be purchased at the shop, or you may bring your own. Dust masks are strongly recommended. 

Dress Code

• Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes -- absolutely no sandals or flip flops.

• No loose, flowing clothing, drawstrings, etc. No jewelry.

• Long hair/beards must be tied back.

Teens ages 14-17 are permitted with an adult in attendance. However, only adults 18+ may become members.
