Basics of Woodworking Series

PREREQUISITE: Shop Orientation course. If you have not taken this course, sign up for an upcoming session or contact us to make other arrangements.
Develop the primary skills to get started in woodworking with this four-part series. Perfect for beginners, and useful for those who need to brush up. Participants will build a sliding-lid box from a provided plan. No membership or prior experience required.
[ NOTE: The fourth session will fall on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. If you have a conflict with this date we can reschedule the final class for you. ]

- Shop safety
- Reading plans
- Buying wood
- Measuring and squaring wood
- Best practices for cutting, planing, sanding, gluing, joining and more
- Troubleshooting common errors and obstacles
Chop (Miter) Saw
Chisels, clamps, and some hand tools
